Description: This dataset results from the integration of vent position data provided by both the University of Washington (UW) and the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI). Depth calculations and height estimations were derived from 1m resolution bathymetric data collected by MBARI's Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV). The height values for each structure were estimated by generating a 'seafloor' raster from the EndeavourAUV data and determining the height difference between the original bathymetry data and the modelled 'seafloor.' The seafloor raster was created using the Focal Statistics geoprocessing tool with the following parameters: Circle 6 Cell Neighbourhood, Minimum Statistic, to generate a generalised seafloor with the vent structures removed.Original Vector Datasets: Endeavour_Vents_UW, Vent_Structures_MBARI.
