Description: 2/26/2022 Updated to match NRLP CAD.2/23/2022 Removed poles amd edited fiberlines at Rivers Walk per Makdad, fiber is underground and is in the same ditch as fiber.8/20/2021 Update Stadium area using JW Hamptons Survey.Wifi Point were updated 7/26/2019 Resource from IT5/30/2019 WIFI repeaters are add as they are found new ones were added around the chilled water building, Anne Belk Hall and Smith Wright.5/30/2019 Rivers Street paving may affect access it appears they are putting metal covers over accesses to manholes hopefully we will get the data of what NC dot has done.7/6/2018 This, feature class was updated with a 2017 survey. The Old High School property was surveyed by Timothy W. Caldwell License number L-5232, September 27, 2017, Mattern & Crag Engineers and Surveyers. Data is considered 90% accurate, and data was collected between 8/ 5-18 / 2017. All coordinates are based on NCGS NAD/83/ 2011 and all elevations are based on NAVD 88. 5/30/2018History Frank Butler NRLP, The ASU fiber is run though the abandoned New River Light & Power manholes and tunnel system. These manholes were abandoned when NRLP upgraded there system and got away from oil filled switches inside the manholes. Once cleaned and kept tidy by the telecom shop, have fallen into disrepair due to differed maintenance. They are now filled with water. Also there are buildings that are considered fiber hubs one example that was given was Ned and Maxine Trivette Hall. There also may be phone and fiber sharing the same manhole system.5/14/2018 Edited around Owens Field House, with the help of CAD and a PDF from NRLP, data collected by Allen Miller with IT.10/17/2017 Now in the SDE the images were attached to many of the points and a python script was run to place them into a single folder. Images were taken in-house and by Rochester & Associates, Inc.9/27/2017 Met with Duane Reese in Sanford Mall today and he showed me were the WIFI fiber and one underground secondary power line was located. The electric power line is (2) 120 volt circuits #10 THHN. The fiber in the middle of the Mall is 6-strand fiber that runs to the electrical manhole and goes into IG Greer. The other WIFI connected on all buildings is CAT 5 cable. Explanation two 1-inch conduits go through the middle of the mall depth unknown. A ¾-inch conduit goes from the Sternberg to a manhole in the wide walk then to IG Greer. Collector was used for geolocation with images.7/18/2017- 7/19/2017 I met with Housing to collect data and verify Telecom’s emergency list. After speaking with Ron it was explained that the dormitory emergency phones and elevator phones are not serviced by Housing and he assumed Telecom maintained then. Maintenance schedule is unknown at this time. Once data collection is completed, the map updated and an updated list created that will be emailed to Chris Carson head of Telecom for review and comments. The updated map layer will be imported into the SDE. Database, where an up to date webmap will be created for consumption by the end of this year. 5/29/2017, Adresses were provided by Deb Weddington see below:Hey, EdPlease see the attached for the Emergency Phone #'s with addresses. Also, I am forwarding to you the most recent lists for the administrativelines and dorm lines (so you can double check the addresses).Hope this is helpful.deb5/27/2017, Notes: 5/23/17 Chris Carson: Attached is the list of emergency phones that I have. I don't have an install year for these. If they have a 911 address it would be associated with the phone number of the phone and Deb Weddington in Centrex could get you that information. Her extension is 2078. Hope this helps you get started. Alicia Cannon <cannonaf@appstate.edu>9:32 AM (7 hours ago)to me I spoke with Chris Carson and he has checked on those 4 locations and confirmed that there are no blue light phones at any of those. 202-203-204-205 can be removed from the list. Thanks,AliciaThere is no know knowledge of the what, why, and how of the numbering scheme of the emergency blue light phones.5/24/17, The police only check outside phones monthly all others are checked by whom?Phone 202 Convocation Center Women’s Dressing Room, 203 Convocation Center Grooming area, 204 Belk Library Loading Dock North, 205 Belk Library Parking Deck East phones were never installed but are on the list per Telecom and the ASU Police.5/19/2017 I spoke with Todd Castle with ASU Telecom and he said Chris Carson would get back with me Monday with the needed information about the Emergency Phones, (phone number, install year, and 911 address if possible). I found out the phones are evaluated monthly by the ASU police. The ASU Telecom Shop then resolves any needed maintenance, and there are always issues. Currently the phones emit a series of beeps, the ASU Police count beeps, that number is located on a spreadsheet and the offices are then dispatched. In the history of the emergency phones only one call has been placed a drunk student locked his keys in his car.3/2/2017 Editor Tracker has been added to this feature class. All of the attributes have been appropriately updated and meaningless columns omitted. However, this is a work in progress. This feature class was created using NRLP, DWG files, and Woodard & Curran, Rochester & Associates, Inc. surveyed communication points. Note: The images for the features have been primarily provided by Rochester survey crew. The New River Light & Power telephone poles for fiber most of the time also support overhead power lines and phone lines as well. The fiber pole images have been gathered from Rochester power pole feature class. NRLP, Woodard & Curran, Rochester & Associates, Inc., and Edward Hyle
