12/18/2020 This feature class was updated to match the Town of Boone Web services, a CAD copy was also created and given to NRLP.
This feature class was updated 3/18/2020 to match the Town of Boone Web services. Some of the attribute fields were hidden at the request of the TOB GIS coordinator.
A feature class of all Boone North Carolina building was downloaded from the Town of Boone SDE. 2/21/2018.

This dataset was created by using ground controlled aerial photography. Orto-rectified digital aerial imagery was acquired by Atlas Geographic Data, Inc. in March of 2014 from the NC CGIA’s E-911, (North Carolina Center for Geographic Information and Analysis), mapping program. Appalachian State University and the Town of Boone provided ground control points to ensure this aerial image was as accurate as possible. The aerial images were acquired between 03/10/2014 and 04/10/2014, during cloud free days, with a minimum sun angle of 38 degrees. This imagery uses the NAD_1983_2011_StatePlane_North_Carolina_FIPS_3200_Ft_US coordinate system and the Lambert Conformal Conic projection.
