This shape file contains the island properties that were purchased or transferred from the Province of BC, or purchased from private owners to make up the proposed Gulf Islands National Park. The property boundaries have been developed from the updated cadastral data provided by the Islands Trust. The fcode attribute field can be used to distinguish between land and marine components of the park. This file also contains codes for linking to the legal descriptions database of park properties. Updated the file with addition of Tilly point rock, dinner point rock, and PID 017-886-759 on S Pender Island (Feb 2008). Another property - CRD regional park added Oct 2008. The 'enc' field gives the status of encumberances as of March 2, 2009. enc (0=No encumberances; 1= Existing encumberances (may not be able to remove before proclamation of park); 10=Foreshore Areas; 11=Submerged Areas; 12=Marine Areas)

May 2021 - Added GINPR_ID_2016 field and GINPRD_ID_2021 fields to store GINPR_IDs assigned to GINPR_properties_Dec2016 and the resulting GI-ID. Where splits occurred, both new IDs are listing in GINPR_ID_2021. Where merges occurred, the resulting GI-ID is listed in multiple original rows.
