The city has conducted several studies to provide up-to-date floodplain area information for the City of Dallas to assist in protecting life and property and to support the City’s participation in the FEMA NFIP program. This information is vital for several city entities including, but not limited to, Zoning, Sustainable Development and Construction, Building Inspection, Parks, Dallas Water Utilities, and all prospective homeowners and developers who need the most updated information to make informed decisions regarding the risks and costs associated with each property.
