Service Description: This file contains ecological characteristics of infaunal Fishers diversity (prediction of the number of species at different levels of abundance) in the central Long Island Sound Pilot Area based on grab samples and analyses of high definition photos and video. These data can be used to provide information on the ecological characteristics of each sample location, and in aggregate for larger areas of the pilot area. This dataset represents data collected in Spring (May) 2013.

Copyright Text: Roman Zajac is part of the Long Island Sound Mapping and Research Collaborative (LISMaRC) contributing to the larger Long Island Sound mapping effort. University of New Haven graduate students that contributed to the development of this data set included: Shannon Penna, Deena Chadi, Jaymie Frederick and Michelle Biegaj. Larry Poppe and Dan Blackwood of the USGS operated the SEABOSS system during the cruise. Field assistance was also provided by Lauren Stefaniak and the crew of the RV Connecticut.
