Description:

General Information

Bridge condition is based on field inspections. These descriptions are from the FHWA Recording and Coding Guide for the Structure Inventory and Appraisal of the Nation's Bridges.

Condition descriptions:

Good - May have some minor problems.

Fair - All primary structure elements are sound, but may have minor section loss, cracking, spalling, or scour.

Poor - Advanced section loss, deterioration, or scour have seriously affected primary structural components.

Critical - Advanced deterioration of structural elements. Unless closely monitored, it may be necessary to close the bridge until corrective action is taken.

This data is updated annually around the 1st of April and corresponds to annual reporting to FHWA.
