Description: Major Transmission lines for Mississippi. If possible, lines were run from substation to substation. In cases of incorporated cities, lines were run into towns then stopped at the local line level. This data set by no means represents ALL transmission lines in the state - especially in incorporated cities. The goal of this data set is to represent those major lines used to connect to populated areas. Vertexes were placed at base of towers / poles along the lines when possible. Editing of existing lines was performed at 1:1,500 scale. Searching for new lines was done at 1:10,000 scale - then actual new lines were added at 1:1,500 scale. Some lines in the original data set were deleted if determined the lines were in error or no longer existed.
