Description: Geologic terrains are the same as major, minor, and sub basins in Kansas. The geologic terrain boundaries in Kansas are based on either major faults or sharp changes in depth. The exception to this is the boundary between Cherokee and Forest City, where an older, existing boundary was used. For modeling purposes, the polygons overlap along the Nemaha Uplift region and extend beyond the Kansas borders.
This data was generated by the Kansas Geological Survey's Energy Program.
