This layer shows recent earthquakes by magnitude from GNS Shaking Layers. It can be used in addition to the GNS Shaking Layers MMI, PGA, PGV and PSA layers.

This layer is updated when

a Shaking Layers event is created
a new latest run is available for an event

Use this epicentre layer if you want to know where an earthquake's epicentre is.

The specific layers provided in this service are:

Earthquake Epicentre: Locations displayed by epicentre, sized by magnitude for available events.

Shaking Layers are computed using the most appropriate (source) parameters for the calculation, and these may differ from those visible on the GeoNet website or other products.
