A resource of 65 geological map cross section images and their map trace locations for Aotearoa New Zealand. The cross sections have been published as part of 21 geological maps under the QMAP 1:250,000 Geological Map of New Zealand map series between 1996 and 2011. The cross section provide an interpretation of the subsurface geology over many parts of the country. The interpretations were based on known surface geology, stratigraphy and geological history as well as subsurface constraints from borehole and geophysical interpretation.
