Description: In early 2023,it was decided to update our 'Recreational Paths and Trails' layer to fit the new naming conventions of our NCC newsletters. Our new name for this layer will now be 'Paths and Trails'.Discussions have been ongoing with key stakeholders in the various portfolios to understand their needs for the updated trail layer:- Gatineau Park ( Benjamin Hiard and Pierre Olivier Dorego)- Greenbelt (Isabelle Hughes)- QUL (Stephane Bergeron)- Capital stewardship(Bruce Devine and Christine Welch)Ongoing discussions with the GIS staff have happened during this whole process.Addition of fields to Paths and TrailsCapital Pathway Network (CAPITALPATHWAY) – Determine whether a segment belongs to the Capital Pathway Network.Domains set as Hub (existing or proposed), feeder link (existing or proposed), , and discovery route (existing or proposed), , unknown, and noNCC Private Path/Trail (NCC_PRIVATE) - Is the segment reserved for NCC only? (ex. Dam access in GP)Domains set as Y/N/U (yes, no, unknown)Trail Name en francais (TRAIL_NAME_FR) – French equivalent to the English name.Winter Biking (WINTER_BIKING) – Does the segment support winter/fat biking?Domains set as Y/N/U (yes, no, unknown)Rock Climbing (ROCKCLIMB) – Is this segment designed for a rock climbing area?Domains set as Y/N/U (yes, no, unknown)Maintenance- Does this have year round maintenance or seasonal?Domains set as Summer / L’été, Winter / L'hiver, Year-Round / Toute l'année, No Season / Pas de saisonRemoval of fields within Paths and TrailsON_TRAIL_N– States the number of a trail when two sections meet and then split later. Example: 43/44NCC_FILE- States an alphanumeric file number used to designate the partner in IRims. Example: 4330-5-10Only 3 records had these file numbers and they are still active. They will be moved to the COMMENTS attribute instead.XSKI_TRAIL– Identifies whether a segment is open to classic cross-country skiing. Exclusive to Greenbelt but they have been using our other attributes originally used by Gatineau Park. FITNESS- Are there any fitness stations on the segment? Confirmed with Isabelle Hughes and Stephane Bergeron that there are none in their portfolios.DOGSLED– Dogsledding allowed on segment? We have none according to our database.CORRIDOR- The width, in metres, of the trail allowance of a segment. Exclusive to GP – confirmed not updated from Benjamin Hiard.PARKWAY- Is this segment part of the parkway? We already have TRAIL_TYPE attribute which covers this.MAIN_SUMM - Is segment maintained during the summer? Combined with MAIN_WINTER to new MAINTENANCE field.MAIN_WINTER - Is segment maintained during the winter?
