Description: These data represent Drinking Water Source Protection (DWSP) zones for groundwater sources operated by Public Water Systems (PWS) in Utah. These zones have been delineated by PWS to comply with the requirements of Utah Administrative Code (UAC) Rule R309-600. The protection zones are submitted to the Utah Division of Drinking Water as part of Drinking Water Source Protection plans. Base maps are required to be at a scale of 1:24,000. Many zones have been manually digitized from paper maps at a scale of 1:24,000.
Zone 1 = 100-feet radius around the source
Zone 2 = 250-day groundwater time-of-travel
Zone 3 = 3-year groundwater time-of-travel
Zone 4 = 15-year groundwater time-of-travel
