intro_header (type: esriFieldTypeString, alias: There is an estimated total of $67.3 million available for improving streets and filling gaps in sidewalks and trails in communities across the greater Portland region. These funds include $20 million dedicated to trail projects that will be funded through the 2019 Metro Parks and Nature bond measure. The remaining $47.3 million is Regional Flexible Funds— Federal funding that can be used for a wide range of projects identified in the 2018 Regional Transportation Plan. This is not enough money to address every community's priority, but these funds can help make the region's transportation system more equitable and reliable, safer and cleaner. Cities and counties submitted 29 proposed projects to qualify for these funds. The proposals add up to about $116 million. Your input will help decision makers prioritize which projects will be funded in this process.
