Service Description: This data interprets the point locations by utilizing a 2.5 acre grid across the RCS boundary. We buffered each point with a 30 foot radius and then calculated the percentage of the grid which falls within this buffer. We then attributed the centroid of the grids with this percentage of oaks within it. Our idea is to use this to symbolize these points at a landscape scale to visualize patterns of Oak clusters. This also gets at normalizing the oak points which may not resemble individual trees but more likely oak canopy.
