Description: Abstract: This dataset displays NPDCs survey level benchmarks within the New Plymouth District area. This data is collected to support the maintenance and management of NPDC's infrastructure and to provide a level benchmark for use by surveyors, consultants and others. This layer includes fields that classify level and coordinates to Taranaki local vertical datum 1970 and New Zealand Geodetic Datum 1949

Lineage: Data has been collated in NPDC's Road Assessment and Maintenance Management (RAMM) system from a number of sources and its accuracy may vary (e.g. old NPDC field book records of survey marks and update data provided to NPDC by surveyors). Data is extracted from RAMM via the RAMM API and published as GIS feature classes for use within NPDC GIS applications and open data portal. Data made available by NPDC may be amended and updated without notification. There may be significant delays before the data is updated to reflect changes in an area.
