CFHZ, RFHZ (Priority Rivers) and RFHZ (Regionwide Models) scenario datasets (originally downloaded from the NRC Open Data Hub) have been simplified for optimal web display.
Three simplification methods were initially tested and supplied by Morphum. The "Subdivide & Multipart to Singlepart" method selected and applied to all the hazard datasets
Method Steps:
Step 1: Split data into 5km2 polygons using the Subdivide Geoprocessing tool.
Step 2: Convert multipart polygons to single part polygons using the Multipart to Singlepart Geoprocessing tool
dataset_name_S indicates step 1 outputs
dateset_name_S_S indicates step 2 outputs
Other Details:
Note:
The Hazard Property Viewer uses the simplified layer (Step 2 Output as mentioned under Method Step section)
All the Original Simplified Coastal Flood Hazard layers had Rangaunu area missing
Hence Coastal Flood Hazard Layers with the Rangaunu area were taken and the steps mentioned under the Method Steps section were followed
Section A: Data that was simplified by Morphum (Original Simplified Data)
MEL: Morphum Environmental
Name of the layer in sde: MEL_CFHZ0_Current_S_S
Ella Mroczek at Morphum Environmental Ltd did the process on behalf of NRC (contact: ella.mroczek@morphum.com)
Section B: Data that was simplified again by NRC
NRC: Northland Regional Council
Name of the layer in sde: NRC_CFHZ0_Current_S_S
