Description:
This feature layer (KYTCDynamic_Assets.DBO.ADA_PedestrianPushButtons_Flattened) shows the locations of Pedestrian Push Buttons that are part of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s (KYTC) assets. These devices are an important part of meeting federal accessibility standards under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) requires that sidewalks, crosswalks, curb ramps, and other pedestrian facilities provide safe and equal access for people with disabilities. Regulations such as Title II of the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act require agencies to create ADA transition plans that identify barriers and outline steps to improve accessibility in existing pedestrian routes. This layer supports KYTC’s efforts to monitor and maintain compliance with these requirements.
