Service Description: Depicts point feature locations of Major Freight User facilities at a statewide scale. These types of facilites must meet at least one following criteria to be included in the dataset; generates 100 or more truck trips per day during peak seasons, manufacturers that have 100 or more employees, has 100,000 or more square feet under-roof, and/or has 5 or more truck bays. Types of facilities in the dataset include manufacturing facilities, warehouses, cross-dock facilities, distribution centers, quarries, steel/aluminum and lumber mills, shipping hubs, and cargo airports. This dataset is limited to freight-generating facilities only, meaning that facilities such as call centers, office buidlings, and large retailers are not included. In some cases, Major Freight Users can also be considered a Major Traffic Generator.
