Description: These data include existing, official trails as well as unofficial trails (e.g. social trails, trails with no public access or ROW) and proposed trails from a comprehensive trail database of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and surrounding park lands, developed for the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area Interagency Trail Management Plan (TMP). Trails and trail attributes were mapped through field survey with differential GPS, onscreen digitizing of ortho-rectified aerial photography, and digitizing of existing hardcopy maps. This baseline data set will be revised as a result of the TMP. Enquire about updated data in 2021.
NOTE: Data contain trails with no public access and proposed trails. Use CS = EO to identify existing, official trails (i.e. official trails on public land or with legal public access).
