The map has been georeferenced by block, using extant Gold Rush structures as primary reference points. Reference structures include Bekeart's Gun Shop, Bell & Allen's Store, Shawl's Brick Block (footing extant), the Odd Fellows Hall, the Williams House, the Coloma Jail Ruins, and the Emmanuel Church.
