This layer shows the existing land use of parcels within the City of Chesapeake. Parcels are assigned a major land use and a minor land use based upon CAMA (real estate) codes, current zoning, and city SDE layers.The major/minor land uses are listed below. The major land use is listed first in bold font, followed by the minor land uses.

Conservation Agriculture: Agriculture, Conservation, Mitigation Bank

Recreation Park: Park, Recreation, Golf, Campground

Government Institution: Public Schools, Private Schools, College University, Cemetery, Assembly Center, Hospital, Municipal Government, State Government, Federal Government, Military

Residential: Single Family, Mobile Home, Duplex, Townhouse, Multi Family / Apartment, Condo, Group Housing

Commercial: Office, Retail Service, Gas / Service Station

Industrial: Airport, Borrow Pit / Landfill, Telecommunications and Utilities, Manufacturing, Storage/Salvage, Warehousing

Vacant Land: Residential Vacant, Commercial Vacant, Multi Family Vacant.
