Service Description: This shapefile was created from existing USGS and County maps for the purpose of eliminating multiple watershed shapefiles having divergent or redundant boundaries. This shapefile shall serve as the basis for the administration of the County's Comprehensive Plan and ordinances related to land use and natural resources.

Watersheds of various scale are named and numbered based on USGS hydrologic unit code (HUC) nomenclature. The watershed boundaries are derived from USGS and historic local delineations and were refined using 3D, Y2000 10 foot contours.
