The feedlot program issues NPDES and SDS operating permits to large feedlots across the State of Minnesota. These permits contain specific requirements for construction and operation of the facilities as well as land application of manure. This datasets identifies areas of the state where groundwater is particularly vulnerable to contamination from land application of manure. Manure applied from NPDES or SDS permitted feedlot facilities must implement best management practices to limit the potential for nitrate leaching.
