Service Description: The power outage incident data used in this analysis were provided by the state of California’s Governors Office of Emergency Services Geoportal (here). This data is made available by five major power providers, including PGE. This data provides a general location of the outage (investigating ~30 points and referencing these to the closest utility pole in GoogleEarth, generally yielded accuracy within 50 feet) as well as detailed attributes related to the outage (number of customers affected, whether the outage was planned/unplanned, probable cause, etc).
