Portland_Fire_Response_Equity (FeatureServer)

View In:   Map Viewer

Service Description: The original downloaded data was added into the project and confirmed that all layers had the same coordinate system, all layers were clipped to the Portland Census outline and the field calculator was used to assign realistic speeds to streets (eg 25mph for local streets and 50 mph for highways) using the equation Time=(length/speed)*60 I created a network dataset where I used field script to tell the network to use my travel time. I then used the service area analysis tool to set cutoffs for 5 and 10 minutes, then I used the dissolve setting to make sure population was only counted once even if a single location had multiple stations within range. Then I used summarize within to determine the total population served by fire stations in each service area polygon, I did the same for affordable housing to determine how many units were serviced in each polygon.
