Description: The spatial data were obtained from the Natural Resources Conservation Service and are current as of February 2013. The soil data originated in two file formats, a .txt file with the tabular attribute information and a shapefile with the geometry information. The .txt file was processed in Microsoft Excel and joined to the shapefile in ArcMap. Attributes were modified to include area symbol, spatialver, map unit symbol, map unit key, soil description, soil association, and additional soil descriptions.
Esri software restricts the word ‘delta’ as a reserved word. Therefore the Delta county filename is appended with the number 1 to read ‘Delta1 …’ for this layer.
