Description: Sewer pipes in the City of Redding and surrounding service areas.
The primary responsibility of the Wastewater Utility is to operate, maintain, and protect the system that collects, treats, and disposes of domestic and industrial sewage generated within its service area. The utility consists of the following: the Clear Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant and Stillwater Wastewater Treatment Plant, where wastewater is treated to meet stringent discharge standards; the Collections Division, which operates and maintains the sewer collection system that gathers and conveys wastewater to the treatment plants; the Industrial Waste Division, which oversees the City's pretreatment program, develops public education programs, and coordinates with the utility's commercial and industrial users; and a Compliance program that ensures the utility continues to meet regulatory requirements while also protecting public health, safety and the environment.
