Description: This layer maps lands with some level of conservation-related protection. Features from six different data sources were selected and combined to produce this layer:
- Pierce County Parks - all features
- Conservation Futures parcels - all parcels
- Nisqually Land Trust parcels - all parcels
- Protected Areas Database of the United States (PAD-US) - features where GAP Status equaled 1, 2, or 3
- ESRI USA Federal Lands - Join Base Lewis-McChord and Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge
- Washington Department of Natural Resource's Non-DNR Major Public Lands - all features except where management type equaled Public School or Medical Facility
In some places, the same protected area was included by more than one of these six data sources. All features were retained, and specific data sources are included as an attribute.
