Description: Population change includes two major components: natural increase (or births minus deaths) and net migration (or in-migrants minus out-migrants). Net migration includes both international migrants from other countries and domestic migrants, or migrants from other counties in other states as well as other Texas counties. This map depicts the driving forces, or components, of the population change of Texas counties. Counties in shades of orange are experiencing population decline driven by out-migration (in dark orange) or natural decrease (in light orange). Counties in shades of blue are experiencing population increase driven by in-migration (in dark blue) or natural increase (in light blue). Select a county to see the total population change and the components of change between 2010 and 2019.
