Description: Boundary delineating the parcels within one kilometer of any Metro Transit bus stop or community transit route. This layer was generated using Network Analyst, creating a network service line 950 metres from every stop point. The service line was then buffered by 50 metres. This was done to intersect all parcels on either side of a right-of-way, including wide boulevards and cul-de-sacs. The 50 metre buffer does present some problems of intersecting the backs of parcels through the shorter lots. Upon having all the intersected parcels, they were merged together, and has topology rules applied to avoid gaps and overlaps. Water courses and/or crown land that was "land-locked" by the merged parcels were incorporated into the boundary. Water courses and/or crown lands that were on the fringe of the merged parcels were removed to reduce the size of the boundary layer. Where appropriate, parcels not intersected by the service line buffer, but that are clearly serviced within one kilometre are included. These may include adjoining water lots that share the same AAN.
