Service Description: This map will facilitate disclosure to a potential buyer that the property of interest lies within an earthquake fault zone or seismic hazard zone as required by the Alquist-Priolo Earthquake Fault Zoning Act (Public Resources Code, Division 2, Chapter 7.5) and the Seismic Hazards Mapping Act of 1990 (Public Resources Code, Division 2, Chapter 7.8). However, the parcel data provided on this map are updated semi-annually and may be outdated at the time they are viewed on this application. Please check with the local lead agency for the most up-to-date parcel information.

The California parcel dataset, under license from Carahsoft Technology Corporation by the California Department of Technology, was processed by California Geological Survey’s (CGS) Seismic Hazards Program (SHP) to determine if a parcel is within an earthquake fault zone or seismic hazard zone. For information regarding the scope and recommended methods to be used in conducting required site investigations, see California Geological Survey Special Publication 42, Fault-Rupture Hazard Zones in California, A Guide for Government Agencies, Geoscience Practitioners, and Property Owners/Developers, and California Geological Survey Special Publication 117A, Guidelines for Evaluating and Mitigating Seismic Hazards in California.
