Description: 4/15/2019Using new photography and the retaining wall feature class, as well as others, I have snapped surrounding features together as they should be. This procedure has taken sometime and I am sure I have missed some things but the vector basemap looks much cleaner now. I would have thought Rochester would have done this for us as a final draft of their services. All of the line features that should be a closed item are now. As I run across others they will be corrected as well. 10/10/2017 Now in the SDE a few images were attached to the associated polygons need to complete collecting images. Are bridges inspected for safety ice melt eats metal?3/2/2017 Editor Tracker has been added to this feature class. All of the attributes have been appropriately updated and meaningless columns omitted. However, this is a work in progress. In this dataset 64 polygons were remotely sensed, throughout the Boone area, using aerial photography. 13 polygons are listed as, X-BRIDGE, or bridges for vehicular traffic, and the remaining 51 polygons are listed as, X-BRIDGE-FOOT, or bridges for pedestrian traffic. Upon close examination this is not a true statement many bridges that are listed for foot traffic are really vehicular traffic bridges. Some of the important bridges on Appalachian State University main campus are not included in this shapefile. It would also be great if campus bridges were named, also listed the year built, and the overall condition. There is no information about when this data was acquired. This shapefile was updated 08/04/2016, to only include Appalachian State University bridges. 18 bridges have been identified by type, owner, and name. There are 13 bridges directly associated with Appalachian state University and 5 bridges indirectly accociated with ASU but are the Town of Boone property. All pedestrian type bridges except for one.
