<descript>
This composite sub-bottom seismic dataset is a set of seismic cross-sections. The line spacing is between 15m for the lines parallel to the apron and 100m for the cross lines perpendicular to the apron. The dataset is in UTM18N in meters and it is reported relative to NAVD88 Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW), National Tidal Datum Epoch (1983-2001).

e4 implemented a 1-10kHz chirp for roughly 75% of the lines, and a 4-24kHz chirp for the remaining 25%. The dataset consists of SEGY files in both RAW format and chirp analytical format. There are more than 900 seismic cross-sections
            <purpose>The purpose of this data is to provide cross sections through the Holocene sediment layer, in some cases through the Pleistocene and rock. This data is not to be used for navigation but is intended for use in various environmental analyses.</purpose>

<dataIdInfo><idAbs>The purpose of this data is to provide cross sections through the Holocene sediment layer, in some cases through the Pleistocene and rock. This data is not to be used for navigation but is intended for use in various environmental analyses. There are more than 900 seismic cross-sections.<br /><a href='https://opdgig.dos.ny.gov/datasets/069d50868de34c14ab2da02d39de5da6/explore' target='_self' rel='nofollow ugc'>View Dataset on the Gateway</a></idAbs><idPurp>Sub-bottom seismic cross-sections of New York Harbor's Holocene sediment deposit layer, including in some cases the Pleistocene sediment desposit layer and rock.</idPurp><searchKeys><keyword>seismic</keyword><keyword>Atlantic Ocean Program</keyword></searchKeys></dataIdInfo></metadata>
