Description: This dataset contains Los Angeles County facilities listed in the US Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Toxics Release Inventory (TRI). The data is clipped to the study area of the Los Angeles River park siting analysis. The 2011 TRI Dataset for the state of California was downloaded in CSV format from the EPA's Toxics Release Inventory Program website. The CSV file was saved in Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) format. Many columns of information were deleted. Rows were deleted for facilities outside Los Angeles County. Rows were deleted for facilities inside Los Angeles County if their Total Release value for 2011 was zero. The processed Excel file was added to ArcMap as a table. X,Y locations were displayed using latitude-longitude values in the table. The XY table was exported to a geodatabase feature class. The feature class was further processed in ArcMap. Some data types (e.g., ZIP) were changed from numeric to text and many text fields had their character widths shortened. No data values were changed.
