    <idPurp>The Ecological Land Mass (ELM) classification was established through the “NILM Report 2020 Update”.  ELM lands describe ecological corridors that have inherent natural values and that protect SAR and their habitats.  The classification is a flag to the NCC to protect these lands in perpetuity through planning and partnership efforts.

Les terrains d'importance écologique (TIE) ont  étés établis  lors de la “Mise à jour de 2020 du Rapport sur la Masse des terrains d’intérêt national". Les terrains d’intérêt écologique décrivent des corridors écologiques qui ont une valeur naturelle inhérente et qui protègent les espèces en péril et leurs habitats. La classification est un indicateur pour la CCN de protéger ces terres à perpétuité grâce à des efforts de planification et de partenariat.</idPurp>
    <idAbs>ELM was derived from two separate analyses - the Ontario side from the AECOM natural linkages analysis (2012) and the Quebec side from Del Degen, Masse (DDM) ecological corridors analysis (2012). Combining those, we removed the areas outside of the National Capital Region (NCR). We also met with the biologists in Ontario Urban Lands and Gatineau Park to verify the recommendations of the reports. Adjustments were made as appropriate.Revisions: - 20220526: Manual spatial edits made by NCC Geomatics to remove overlaps within the ELM data on the ON side, which were traced back to the original data source (AECOM 2012 Greenbelt Linkages). Merges completed within Location IDs SB (2 polygons) and SB_1_SM (2 polygons). Then clips completed between Location IDs SB clipping SB_1_SM (1 overlap between 2 polygons), and CH clipping SM_1_CH (2 overlaps between two polygons). Note that in these edits Core Natural Areas took priority over Natural Area Linkages where they overlapped.-20220718 : Manual spatial edits made by NCC Geomatics to adjust Breckenridge Creek Corridor (LOCATION_ID:BCC) polygon to the revised NCC Gatineau Park Boundary (2021).--------------------------------------Les TIE sont issues de deux analyses distinctes - du côté ontarien de l'analyse des liens naturels d'AECOM (2012) et du côté québécois de l'analyse des corridors écologiques de Del Degan Massé (DDM) (2012). En les combinant, nous avons retiré les zones situées à l'extérieur de la région de la capitale nationale (RCN). Nous avons également rencontré les biologistes des Terres urbaines de l'Ontario et du parc de la Gatineau pour vérifier les recommandations des rapports. Des ajustements ont été apportés au besoin.Révisions : - 20220526 : Des vérifications manuelles ont été effectuées par l’équipe Géomatique pour éliminer les chevauchements dans les données des TIE du côté de l'Ontario, qui ont été retracées à la source de données originale (AECOM 2012 Greenbelt Linkages). Les fusions ont été réalisées dans les ID de localisation SB (2 polygones) et SB_1_SM (2 polygones).
