ZCTAs are generalized areal representations of the geographic extent and distribution of the point-based ZIP Codes built using 2020 Census tabulation blocks.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;2020 ZCTAs are a generalized version of ZIP codes as they existed in 2020 and are intended for mapping Census demographic data.
