Service Description: These data were created as part of the DisMAP project to enable visualization and analysis of changes in fish and invertebrate distributions. These layers provide information on the spatial extent/boundaries of the bottom trawl surveys. Information on species distributions is of paramount importance for understanding and preparing for climate-change impacts, and plays a key role in climate-ready fisheries management.

Description: This survey points layer provides information on both the locations where species are caught in several NOAA Fisheries surveys and the amount (i.e., biomass weight catch per unit effort, standardized to kg/ha) of each species that was caught at each location. Information on species distributions is of paramount importance for understanding and preparing for climate-change impacts, and plays a key role in climate-ready fisheries management.
