        <idAbs>Flood Maps (NI) Floodplain Rivers Premium is a multi-layered predictive flood mapping product providing detailed mapping for rivers/culverts that have been hydro-dynamically modelled using the latest 1D/2D modelling software. The output consists of a site-specific extract of GI data consisting of flood hazard information for a range of return periods. The dataset has been designed to provide site-specific information, for use by stakeholders including government bodies, councils, utilities and developers on the likelihood of river flooding for a wide range of scenarios. This provides the stakeholder with a more comprehensive understanding of the exposure to flood hazards associated with individual assets or sites, in turn, supporting a proactive and co-operative approach to flood risk management. By being aware of the land estimated to be at risk of flooding, authorities can develop strategies to better manage flood risk through their planning, flood prevention and emergency planning functions. This flood product provides a composite of both detailed flood modelling and strategic flood modelling for the Q100 Present Day and Q100 Climate Change (Q100CC) return periods throughout Northern Ireland. The Q100CC layers take into consideration the impact that climate change may have on flooding extents, derived by the application of a 20% uplift to Q100 river flows. (Q100 represents a &amp;quot;Medium Probability&amp;quot; flood hazard. This means there is a 1% chance that a flood of this magnitude or greater will occur in any given year). Within the Q100 and Q100CC return periods, there is information based on the CrossSection Nodes, Manhole Nodes, Flood Extent Detailed and Flood Extent Strategic. The Flood Extent Detailed layer includes rivers/culverts that have been hydro-dynamically modelled using the latest 1D/2D modelling software. The Flood Extent Strategic layer includes rivers (mostly outside significant flood risk areas) that have been modelled using strategic modelling methods. This product also provides information for a number of other return periods including Q2, Q5, Q10, Q25, Q50, Q75, Q200 and Q1000 (All Present Day). Within each of the return periods there is information based on the CrossSection Nodes, Depth Bands and Flood Extent (Detailed). The Q10 and Q1000 contain extra data included as Manhole Nodes. The CrossSection Node layer represents the maximum predicted values for the fluvial flood water level, velocity and discharge (volume per second) for the return periods. Points are typically at the intersection of the centre of the channel and surveyed cross sections. The Manhole Node layer represents the maximum predicted values for fluvial flood water level, velocity and discharge (volume per second) modelled for the return periods, sampled at manholes. The Depth Band layer is the maximum predicted fluvial flood water depth modelled for the return periods and is presented in three depth classes; less than 0.3m: 0.3m to 1.0m: more than 1.0m. Information is also included on whether the rivers have been modelled in detail and modelled strategically which, is included in the River Model Status group layer. The Flow Direction layer also included in the River Model Status group layer provides an illustrated representation of the directions in which the rivers throughout Northern Ireland flow in. The flood defences throughout Northern Ireland that are classified as engineered or as significant agricultural defences are included along with information on the standard of protection provided. The layer is illustrated based on the standard of protection offered (SoP) by the fluvial flood defence. The areas benefiting from the flood defences are also included. This layer illustrates the areas that will benefit from the flood defence during a Q100 flood event.
