            <abstract>Routed regional river centerline data layer using the polylineM feature format with measures in kilometers. The stream route layer includes stream locations where, on the basis of the raster model used to create the data layer, surface water may have once existed, but is now piped, culverted or thought to be buried. Likewise the layer includes centerlines through water bodies, i.e. portions of streams that connect with larger bodies of water such as wetlands, ponds, etc. Thus many portions of a stream route feature are included primarily to complete the centerline network for routing purposes.</abstract>
            <purpose>To allow dynamic segmentation using or creating event tables.</purpose>
            <supplinf>Derived from the Data Resource Center's &lt;a href="http://mazama.metro-region.org/metadata/display.cfm?Meta_layer_id=1256&amp;Db_type=rlis"&gt;river_center line coverage&lt;/A&gt;. Routing is based on LLID with measures in kilometers to be compatible with the Pacific Northwest Hydrography Framework implemented through the &lt;a href= "http://hydro.reo.gov/"&gt;Regional Ecosystem Office (REO)&lt;/A&gt;. LLID and name were brought over manually to the new linework of the arcs for streams that already existed in the StreamNet 100k, except for the few streams in the StreamNet 100k coverage where there appeared to be errors. The creation of LLID for streams not in the 100k StreamNet coverage and all routing are created using procedures developed at Metro.</supplinf>

                <horizpar>The streams layer was initially registered to the US Geological Survey (USGS) 7.5 minute quadrangles, and then adjusted visually at approximately 1:10000 using the 1998 Spencer Gross aerial photography. Where photography was not available or banks and streambeds obscured, the USGS quad topography was used. Some streams, usually major streams, are registered to the tax lot map.</horizpar>
